Over the past 30 years, Rich has emerged as a global thought leader on digital business leadership. He is defined by an exceptional mix of business insight, technical proficiency and people-savvy as well as an intense passion for using information technology to accomplish business goals. Rich is a Director and IT change executive at Marathon Oil, an Adjunct Professor at the Jones graduate School of Business at Rice University and a noted speaker on digital business leadership & IT transformation. For the last 11 years, Rich has lead IT turnaround efforts at several Fortune 100 companies. Before that, Rich was a successful business executive at ExxonMobil, an international entrepreneur and a practice-leading strategy consultant at Accenture. Rich remains an active life-long learner. He holds an engineering degree with honors from the Sibley School of Engineering at Cornell University, an MBA with honors from the Booth School at University of Chicago and a Ph.D. from Capella University. In addition to his work at Rice, he has taught management courses for the Oxford College of Petroleum Studies. Rich lives in Hilshire Village (Houston) with his wife of 25 years and their three children. Outside interests include golf, theater, ministry and exploring everything new.
